Whose Manger Is This?
As Christmas rapidly approaches, have you finished shopping? If you’re buying for little ones ages two to eight, I recommend a wonderful book I recently purchased for my grandchildren–Whose Manger is This?
Whose Manger Is This?
We’re reminded that Christmas is not about us, but the gift we received in the manger. Authored by Lisa Robbins and beautifully illustrated by Tatiana Kochan, this book will bring joy to parents and children.
Written from the perspective of the animals in the Bethlehem stable, the author creatively dialogues an argument about ownership of the manger. Each, in their self-centered speeches, lays claim to the place where a baby sleeps on a mound of hay.
A Gift of Love
But during their antagonistic discussion, the animals realized something amazing…
The animals look at the baby wrapped tight. God’s Son, heaven’s gift, had been born in the night.”
Whose Manger Is This? p. 21
The occupants of the stable sang with joy at the gift of love in the manger.
What about us? Do we sing with joy about God’s Son and what He did for us?
The baby in the manger grew into the man who gave His life for us–the ultimate gift of love.
The most wonderful thing about this child is that He came for each of us as our Savior.
We all received the gift of God’s love on that special night.
Whose Savior Is This?
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. (John 3:16-17)
